“In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.”
– Hebrews 5:7

Jesus prayed. It is amazing that God in the flesh was put in the position to have to pray. Jesus prayed as if it made a difference whether he prayed or not. He did not treat prayer as if it were divine theater; as if he were putting on an act for the sake of his followers. He didn’t prayer as if he were doing it to just be an example to us. He was doing more than teaching others to pray by his praying. He was actually praying as he taught us to pray; in the same way we must pray.
